Q: Where do families live?
A: We service families in the Greater Hartford Area: West Hartford, Hartford, Simsbury, Farmington, Avon, Canton, Glastonbury, Bloomfield, Windsor, South Windsor, Wethersfield, Newington, Ellington and surrounding towns. *Other towns in CT may be considered. Please contact us.*
Q: How many students in a pod?
A: We suggest 3-6 students in a pod from the same family/friend group/neighbors, etc. Students may be in various grades in one pod.
Q: What are the qualifications of the teachers?
A: Experience in the field of Education; degrees in Early Childhood, Elementary & Special Education, etc. Insured, Fingerprinted & Background checked.
Q: What is the cost?
A: We are reasonably priced. It is approximately $30 per hour/per family. Families can pay for 3-5 days a week. Pod families decide on the amount to contribute to their pod price.
Q: What is the schedule?
A: We have Morning and Afternoon Pods; mornings – 9:00am to 12:00noon or afternoons – 1:00pm to 4:00pm but the time can be adjusted to fit your scheduling needs.
Q: What is required of the families and teachers?
A: Families are required to provide a personal laptop for each child, water bottle and a snack. Teacher will provide all supplies, monitoring/instruction, decoration of pod area (basement, garage, den, backyard) and contact with child’s school teacher if needed. Teacher will provide monitoring of distance-learning so parents can work from home without interruptions.
Q: What are your safety precautions?
A: Teacher will wear a face mask and/or face shield. Students and teacher will take hand washing /hand sanitizer breaks. Teacher will clean/disinfect area provided before and after session.
Q: What if I do NOT want a pod and would like to have a teacher help my children only?
A: We also provide one-on-one tutoring. A teacher can come to your home or location and work with your child/family alone.
